John's Garden

YES!! We finally have it warm enough that John has been planting seeds and plants for his garden. We have tomatoes, raspberries, corn, broccoli, peas, green beans, and I think some more stuff. Some of our lilac plants died so John planted some willow trees kind of to shelter our backyard from the "highway" traffic. Here are the pictures of his garden!

  1. I moved into a home with a nice raspberry patch. I researched info on the care of them. When I saw that you planted tomatoes in the same area as your raspberries it reminded me of what I had read.

"Raspberries grow best in rich,well-drained soil with a pH 6.0 to 6.5. They benefit from supplemental compost and manure. They should NOT be planted in an area where eggplants, peppers, potatoes or tomatoes have been grown within three years, because they are susceptible to verticicillium wilt which is associated with those plants."

Thought you might benefit from the information.
