John and another person rode their bike over 10 miles. Over the summer John has probably ridden over 50 miles on the youth bike trips. We got to go to one of the people from our church houses. They had horses and some cattle....so Little N was saying horse and cow alot!! We also got to cook hot dogs over an open fire. I also got to take pictures of their BEAUTIFUL old cars!! :-)

We went to a raspberry patch that someone from our church has. They have a HUGE patch. So we started picking. Little N loved picking the raspberries and then stealing the raspberries from mommy's bucket. It was a warm but VERY productive day! You can tell who had fun by his face! :-)

John talked about golfing today but then decided that today would be a better water day. So we went to Golden Lake....had a nice lunch there, then we got to borrow a jet ski (NO Caristy and Little N didn't ride the jet ski....the water was WAY to choppy so John didn't want to take Little N and Caristy was just a little leary of trying to go on choppy water with no ab control. It was a fun day....played in the water, Little N jumped to daddy in the water. It was a fun day!!

Little N while we were out in CT started sleeping and taking naps in a big boy bed (his Uncle Rich's bed). He did great out there so we decided that we really didn't want to put him in the crib right away so John set up the big boy bed and got the railing up. I put two pillows at the foot of the bed and my big deana (comforter) just to give him that boxed in feeling. :-) The first couple nights he did great no problems. He does however go into the nursery and stare at the crib longingly. When he does that it just tears at my heart a little bit! :-( SIGH!!! But here's his bed....so far no comforter (Grandma D is planning on making him a comforter....so once winter hits he'll have a blanket of his own.....because the new baby will have taken his comforter.)

We went down to the pond for dinner....yum (steak, chicken, veggies, and corn on the cob)! But because we were at the pond we enjoyed the water. Little N got Tante Lexi to give him a boat ride. Little N also enjoyed throwing rocks into the water (shh....don't tell great grandma)!!

Little N loves his golf clubs. If I would let him sleep with them....he probably would. :-) But I digress....Grandpa came home and Little N was playing outside with his golf clubs....so Little N was bound and determined to ignore Grandpa (of course Little N knew grandpa was around but he was playing with his golf clubs)!! So grandpa followed him around and GOT him!! Little N loves his grandpa!!
T was born the same day as our nephew 5 years ago. T had a late birthday party so Little N and I were able to join in the fun. T has grown and changed so much in 5 years....he just makes me smile. Little N and I gave him moon sand (I think that's what it's called) and he was SO excited because he's wanted to play with it for SO long!! T had a pinata....Little N got to try hitting and it and all the kids had a try. When the candy all spilled....Little N had his first taste of a lollipop. He enjoyed every last STICKY drop!!

Little L since the time that we had entered the Forest Park Zoo had been DYING to go to the playground. His mind zeroed into the playground and he wouldn't let his mommy forget that he really wanted to go to the playground. So after we had seen all the animals we went to the playground. Little L went from the "bigger" playground to the "little kid" playground....while Little N was VERY glad to play on the little playground (his mommy and grandma were also VERY thankful)! It was fun to watch the two boys interact with one another. They were just SO funny!!
If you ever need a place to go for a day and you have an almost 2 year old and an almost 2 1/2 year old (or even if you have older kids), check out Forest Park. Forest Park is located in Springfield, MA. It a HUGE park and they have nature paths, all sorts of things that you can do there. Pretty cool place. We went there to check out the zoo. It's a small zoo (the best way I compare it....it's very similar to the Como Zoo in Minneapolis, MN) but it has animals and Little N was just enthralled the whole time we were there. We went in the morning (SUCH a wise choice....the zoo opened at 10 am and we got there right as it was openning)....made it around the zoo in probably an 1 1/2 hours. Little N loved the monkeys, he saw a doat - kept on saying doat, doat, doat (which is really a GOAT) and got to watch two black bears get there food. He just stared at most of the animals. It was SUPER cute!! By that point we were hot (two pregnant women trying to watch two active toddlers....makes for busy mommies....I was SO thankful that my mom was there and that Little N had his stroller!) so we got to go to Little L favorite part (the playground....right outside the zoo.....POOR placement if you ask me!!).
