It seems like this weekend has been filled with stuff...we've been going, going, going all week. We had church, then we took a short nap and then went over to a friend's house for an Easter barbeque. It was such a great day. Happy Easter...HE IS RISEN!
I love that they were holding their hands during the singing. They are so sweet! I love them!!
The Easter Kindergarten program. This year was a much easier understanding day, then last year. We watched the teachers perform a show about how the the King lost his son (stolen) and how he got his son back. A story similar to how God sent his Son to the world to save us. Afterwards Little N and M got to make and decorate a plaque. They had a blast and did a great job. After that they got to go on an Easter Egg hunt and play in the sand. It was a great day!
We had a very low key and meaningful Good Friday service. It was the best type of service - singing some songs, listening to scripture and then nailing our sins to the cross. It's was very personal and makes you truly think about what Jesus did for me in the cross.
This year is year of the snake or the little dragon. I got to go downtown to meet a friend and while I waited I saw this cute little snake that just begged to have pictures taken of it. There was also two really cool beautifully designed snakes...which I wasn't able to capture without cars driving by all the time.
We met for playgroup at church. The weather just wasn't very nice out...I guess that's what happens when you have rainy season...you get days of bad weather. But thankfully we had a fun place where the kids could play and the moms could chat.
There was a new restaurant that opened near church that we wanted to try. A little bit pricey but lots of fun for the kids to be there. We had fun chatting and eating our meal!
We are very blessed to attend a small group bible study. We meet as a group discussing various topics or books. Then a parent usually goes in to watch the kiddos. This week it was my turn to watch the kiddos. They were so sweet and adorable. Very blessed to be a part of a group where we can come together to worship God and where our kids have chance to spend time with one another.
One of my dear friends is expecting a baby. She knew that it was a baby girl so we decided to surprise her with a baby shower. It was wonderful minus the whole someone spilling the beans before the shower was going to take place. I was part of the reason it was a surprise because we were gonna go get ice cream and watch a movie. Then to get her to the apartment my other friend told her that I was running late so could she stop over her house to look at some baby clothes. When she got there she was very surprised and I'm pretty sure her heart was full....her love language is gifts and she was just beaming and glowing as she was opening up her presents realizing that everyone there loved her enough that she got a gift from them all. So happy for my friend and can't wait to meet this little girl.
Then later on we were invited to E and H's birthday parties. It was a great birthday....H does a great job entertaining all the kids and teaching them all sorts of games. All the kids were incredible sad when it was time to go because they were having so much fun. Happy birthday girls!!
Happy Birthday E and H! We love you!!
Kris made the coolest birthday cake. It was a rainbow cake and the layers inside the cake were amazing. I was just amazed at how well the cake turned out and how yummy it was! (Mostly because I'm not sure I'd be able to create that type of cake!)
So one of my dear friends lives in my community. We don't see much of each other but I always enjoy seeing her. She just had a daughter like 4 months ago and I'm pretty sure that Little H and the daughter are close to the same weight. She and her husband are really good with my kids and I'm very thankful for the graciousness that they give to my kids and I. I can usually ask her questions about Chinese culture and she will answer me and help me out with stuff.
The first thing that they show Little H was this little snail like rocking chair and let her play with it. They were very surprised that the boys could and wanted to ride on the snail. They also spoiled my kids with chocolate and letting them play the ipad.
There are moments as a parent that you give into temptation and you buy something that you know that you have no need for but you know that your kids will absolutely love it. Today was one of those days. John and I went on a date to Costco. We met up with some friends while we were there and just chatted with them for a while. Then we saw them. People were buying 5 or 6 of them at a time. We saw them and just knew that we had to buy one for Little H. So we went searching for a the bear. Once we found the aisle where the bears were being stored we were just shocked. I believe that there were like 10 boxes full of big bears and while the price wasn't horrible it was that great to be buying 6 bears at a time. So we decided to buy one and because we couldn't take it up with us right away it stayed in the car. Then John brought the bear up...the boys absolutely loved the fact that we had a big teddy bear to lay on and play on. Little H on the other hand was so scared that she ran for cover and hid. Till her brothers made her realize that the bear was okay. She is still a little nervous but is gradually getting used to him.
We had a wonderful picnic with some of the families that attend our preschool sunday school class. It was an absolutely stunning day to spend the day eating outside under the beautiful flowering trees. Little H is getting bigger and bigger and has decided that she can run around with the big kids.
We invited a bunch of our friends to join us for an afternoon at the beach. It was a beautiful day and the guys had fun digging a hole. The kids had a blast running to the ocean, playing in the sand and of course flying a kite. It was a wonderful day and I'm so thankful I could spend the day at the beach!
