Our Trip to Dickinson!

Nikolas woke up at 5:30 in the morning to eat and after he finished eating we left to go to Dickinson. John had a meeting that he had to go to and so Nikolas and I decided to tag along. When we left it was really dark. I had just gotten Nikolas comfy and John told me I could go to sleep....so I did! All of a sudden John stepped on the breaks and I woke up to the beady eyes of two deer. John swerved in between three deer and we continued to drive (I didn't go back to sleep) we stopped at a couple places to take pictures of the scenery. (The sun was amazing!) We got to Dickinson and John wanted to go to the bank. The bank in town was closed due to a fire that had been the next building. We were very frustrated! We finally got to a bank. Nikolas and I waited while John went to the bank. Nikolas was in a cheerful mood and was talking to me. He actually used a d sound instead of his vowel sounds so it sounded like he said dada....but it was just a flux....but it was kind of fun to hear. We finished all of our errands and checked into the hotel. We checked out the pool and decided to put Nikolas in Swimmer Diapers. Sadly they didn't fit so we put a swimmer diaper over a diaper and went to the pool. It was way to cold in the wading pool and the swimming pool so I sat with him in the hot tub. Don't worry he sat on my lap and occasionally dipped his foot in the water! John had his meetings and Nikolas and I talked with some of the other pastor's wives and their kids! It was lots of fun! It's always nice to see old friends and catch up with them. Here are some pictures of the weekend.

  2. How fun for you to be able to hang out with Ren and Emily and the babies. I find myself missing the companionship that we all enjoyed while in Seminary.
