An afternoon at the park

We went to the train park after Little N and M were done with school.  The weather is slowly turning from extremely hot to giving the occasional breeze and cooling off to play outside.  There are some trees where the roots grow from the branches and if you pick the right ones you can swing on them like a swing.  It was lots of fun to watch and take pictures of.  John had lots of fun and the kids also had a blast.  Excited for the cool weather.

Thailand Mission Trip Presentation

Today was the day for the Thailand Mission trip...it was a busy day for us.  John had two services a 9:30 service, Sunday School and an 1:30 service and then afterwards we stayed to listen and see the things that people that went to Thailand had to say about their trip.  It was very good and I really wish I had been able to go however I would have run out of camera space with all the different places the team went.  Thankful for the ministry opportunity that the teams that go there are able to provide for the long term missionaries that are there in Thailand.  I need to go through John's pictures and ask him to tell his story and share it here on the blog.
Little M was the only one in the family willing to model the different types of hats men and women wore over in Thailand.
This is one of the pastor's wives and she went on the mission trip.  She joined us on the Co-Workers retreat to Matsu island and has really bonded with my boys.
I just love this picture...she is just so beautiful and I was so thankful for what she had to share.  (Even if I didn't understand all she talked about!)

English Playgroup and around the church neighborhood

We have met again for English playgroup.  Little H and her friend got to play together and it was SO sweet to watch them play together. Hopefully we will have more friends to play with next time.
We went to the doctor's for the kids shots and while we were waiting for the lights to change we watched as construction workers have been tearing old buildings down.  (We aren't sure what is going to be put in but it's been interesting to watch everything happen).

Little N's adventure

So Little N was asked to be a model.  We were approached to have them try modeling and we figured we would try it out.  We were up out of the house at 5:30 am and had to be at the place before 6 am.  So John brought us over there and we waited for the day to start.  He was told to dress up to go to a party.  When we got there it was just very interesting and chaotic.  Little N at first didn't want to perform but then he figured it out.  He was having a good time playing with the kids and playing with his Legos.  We have no clue what the commerical is about or for!  Thankfully he was basically just background....no speaking parts! He had fun and did a great job!  So proud of him.
The decorations and food for the shoot was absolutely amazing and gorgeous!  Wish we had been able to eat some of it! So pretty!!
Little N running around the garden with the other kids!
Break time...playing with Legos is important stuff!

August Monthly Challenge - Motion Blur

This month has been pure chaos.  I almost get caught up on my blog and life and then things get in the way.  Sigh....hoping September slows down some soon.  I can't wait to have time to take pictures and read books and just slow down some.  Anyways, sorry about that!  This month's challenge was about motion blur, which is hard because you have to be very intentional about what your stuff looks like because sometimes your pictures look like an accident even though you meant for it to be on purpose.  I had lots of fun this month because we were in Matsu islands for a week in August and we were right by the ocean and I decided to attempt to get some motion blur both in the water and in the trees.  I wasn't as successful in my vision as I had hoped to be (mostly because I didn't want to take my camera out in a "typhoon") but as we were flying home from Matsu islands back to Taiwan we were one a propeller type airplane and I was able to get the motion from the blades as they were moving in the sky.  It was pretty neat and very fun!
Please continue through this blog circle to see how others have looked at shooting with a mobile device from some of the most amazing women, I have been so privileged to  know on this year journey.  Starting withGina, I know that you will enjoy her post.

The First Day of School

Today marks the start of a new year!  Little N starts his last year of Kindergarten and Little M starts his first year of "Kindergarten".  Little N was very excited to start school and went in very confident about what was going to happen this year at school.  Little M was very excited because he had one of the same teacher's as Little N last year so he was excited to start the school year.  We will see how everything continues if both boys like school as much as they do the first day!
My big boy!  So independent and knows just what to do! Makes me a little teary!! When did he get so grown up?
Saying good bye to mommy and daddy before going off to class!
Even though Little M didn't speak the language he communicated via his eyes whether he was happy or sad!
Posing in his classroom!  So different from the first two times we went to school!
Little H was a little unsure of what to do with her brothers gone for half the day so she clung to us all day as she waited to see her brothers.  She was so excited when we got to school and picked up her brothers she just held onto her brothers hands and wouldn't let them go. (Which is not normal for her.)
