Well Honey, I think we are in Kansas now!

Alright so my title is stupid. If you can think of something better than I'll change it!! But that's all I can come up with. So after Thanksgiving and trying to see if we could go shopping on Black Friday we made our way down to Greenleaf, Kansas. One of our friends from SIL (summer institute of Linguistics) lives there and is serving a Missouri Synod congregation there. We had one more week of vacation that John had to use up and seeing that we aren't going out East until January we decided to use it up. So we drove to Kansas, we switched Little N's car seat (from his infant car seat to his convertible car seat) to test drive it to see how he will do in a long car drive. (We'll be going on an even longer car drive in January) He did pretty good. We made a couple stops but he had no problems getting back into his car seat. Got to Greenleaf really late!! But thankfully Chris said that Little N could sleep in a room all to himself (we've learned the hard way that Little N sleeps a lot longer and better when he's by himself!) So we hung out for a couple days....drove around. Chris (our friend) lives close to where a Pony Express station was. So we saw that. Then we just drove around looking at the scenery, as you can see Little N wasn't very impressed! Lots of pretty valleys as you drive but you can still see for miles. Way different than North Dakota.....where it's mostly flat and you can see for probably 10 miles or more!! :-)

Thanksgiving & a Baby Shower

Happy Thanksgiving! We drove down to Minneapolis to celebrate Thanksgiving with Caristy's mom's family. We had lots of fun.....laughing at things people said, and just being able to be with family. Played the hardest game in the world (I guess if you knew stuff you might be able to play the game but it was hard....I think it was Tribond that we played!) Ate Lefse....yummy!! Little N liked playing with all of his 2nd cousins but was EXTREMELY shy and tired. He loved his first Thanksgiving meal. Gobbled everything up!! We also had a baby shower for my cousin Eva. She is going to have a baby boy in 2 months. She looks so cute!

15 month Dr. visit!

Little N had his 15 month visit. He weighed 20.4 pounds and was 29 inches tall. So he's still tiny but he's getting bigger EVERY DAY!! He got two shots: MMR and the flu shot! Little N cried just a little bit but was so brave and just wanted to snuggle!! His mommy also got the flu shot too (she's weird in that a day later where she got her shot was black and blue!)

Goofy Pictures and Waiting!!

Little N was being silly....he took off his pants and placed them on his head! :-) Then just giggled and laughed!! After awhile he started to watch the window waiting for his favorite person to come home! He was SO excited when his Daddy finally came home and his Daddy was so excited to see his favorite guy!

No pictures but!!

So I (Caristy) got home from the weekend retreat and almost immediately after John left to go deer hunting! (I guess today was the last day to hunt deer.....he had a tag for it and wanted to use it up!) So he calls me when he's 5 minutes out to tell me that he was coming home! I said great.....see you when you get here. Then he tells me the dreaded news......he shot and killed a deer. (OH NO!!) But then he tells me that it's not in the truck, that he's pulling it with a trailer behind our truck. (Phew!!) He has three guys come over to help him clean it and stuff. I showed Little N daddy and the three guys carrying the deer into the garage (I had my eyes closed the whole time!) Then the guys proceeded to make fun of me and tell me to go out a look and that we've been hunters for a long time. I made the wise choice to stay inside the house, to not take a picture of the deer and to just ignore the mocking. (I think if I had seen the deer or anything of the sort I'd become a vegatarian. (I have no problem with eating meat I just can't think about the process of it!) So right now we have a skinned deer hanging in our garage (with a tarp below it so that way it won't be a big mess) John has told me where it is so that way I can walk out of the garage and keep my eyes away from the whole thing. I'm a little traumatized!! On the bright side (I don't see one yet!) John has told me that he wants me to make a trip down to Fargo for a couple of days while be makes jerky. (I hate the smell of jerky being made.....it makes me sick!) So anyone want to hang out with me? Not sure when but maybe after we get back from everything having to do with Thanksgiving! :-)

Scrap and Stamp Weekend

I (Caristy) got to leave on Friday to go to the Scrap and Stamp weekend at Inspiration Point. It was a great weekend. I left after lunch on Friday....saw a movie and then made it to camp. Then began to work all weekend long and completing my goal of making 100 cards. I made that goal and was so proud that I did that many cards. :-) Got to talk with old friends, and make new friends! What a great weekend!

Gloves!

The gloves are on!! I couldn't get the best shot of Little N but he likes to try to put on his daddy's or mommy's gloves or shoes and then walk around! He's such silly guy!!

The Life of Little N

I play and have fun.
Then when I do something I'm not supposed to do or when I'm told NO or even looked at funny, I pull this face. I love bread and I love my sippy cup!

Little N gets to hang out with his cousins!

We went over to Rachel's house after being in Fergus. Little N loved playing with his cousins and all their stuff!! When it was time to go it was with tears of sadness. Thanks Auntie Rachel for letting us come over to play.....Little N wants to do it again!

Watching the snow fall

Little N asked me today what was the white stuff that was falling to the ground. I said snow! Little N just stood on great grandpa's desk and watched the snow fall.

My little Mohawk Boy

You may not be able to see it but Little N has enough hair for a faux mohawk. I also got a picture of him looking at me from the other side of a bar stool. I love that guy!!

The Harvest Festival

We had our annual Harvest Festival at our church. First we had a supper of swedish meatballs, baked potatoes, green beans and rolls. Yummy!! Then we got to have pie for dessert! Can you guess what Caristy's favorite is? We had an offering that went towards missions.....people were very generous! Then we had an auction......that has got to be the funniest thing to witness. We've had years where the husband and wife didn't know that they were bidding each other up! So funny!! It was a wonderful and fun night!

Silly Boy

So for lunch I gave Little N some homemade pizza. He ate that in a big old gulp. He was still hungry and so I gave him some more (off of mine!) He ate a big slice of pizza and then ate
half of mine. What a little piggy! But he's my cute little piggy! Eventually all this food will translate to getting bigger!! (There's hope right?)

Uh-Oh, I'm in Trouble!!

I am in so much trouble now!! Little N has discovered how to climb!! He will climb up on the papasoon (no idea how to spell that!) foot rest and then just stand there with a big grin on his face....thinking I'm KING of the WORLD!! Or he'll climb on top of it and then tap me on the shoulder for a hug. Okay I guess that is okay. He's also learning to use us as a step stool to climb on the couch. (That's a lot of the times where we have put remote controls and such so he doesn't get it!!) All right I'll confess....I'm a mom of a climber! (Can I have a tissue?)

Hands 2 Help Weekend

John took 4 guys to help clean up and just get Inspiration Point ready for winter. Before they got to camp we went bowling. Little N was absolutely enthralled with the bowling balls and was quite put out that he couldn't hold a bowling ball or try to bowl. We had a good time bowling and going all sorts of place. Caristy got her Moe's fix (good food) and then she got to hang out with her relatives while the guys worked so hard to get camp cleaned up. I (Caristy) was so thankful that I had Little N because it was so cold outside and the groups had been outside from 8:30 am till 4 pm. Brrr......I guess better them than me!! :-)
