Brrr....what happened?

We arrived on Sunday to Minot and it was 40 degrees (I think as the high)....went walking around and went to Target, the mall closed and so we had to walk around the mall to get back into the hotel. Not to bad.

Monday we woke up to it being 18 degrees (I think as a high)....I was thinking that it wouldn't be bad to walk over to Space Aliens (a restaurant), which was just over the parking lot from us. But it was WAY to cold so we drove over there. BRRR......went back to the hotel and walked the mall. (Oh did I tell you that the hotel is connected to the mall?) The retreat started that night and after the session we were relaxing by the pool. (The water park has water slides, one going outside)....well it was to cold so the pool attendants turned off the water. Sadly a lady decided that maybe the water started further down.....so she went down the slide where most of the water was FROZEN because it was BELOW ZERO......John heard from inside the tube saying help, help because he went down another slide......there was no way to help her......sadly she just wasn't that smart.....was freezing by the time she got down to the water and kept telling everyone that the purple one was frozen so don't go on it. Sadly I think that she would have been the only on dumb enough to go down it....even the little kids knew better than to go down that slide. Sigh......

Daddy, I'm still gonna stay on earth, right? I'm not ready to fly into outer space yet!! Don't leave me! :-)

We had a great time at the retreat. We saw lots of other pastors & "spouses" (wives) from the Western District. The Sessions were great, Little N did great during the sessions and through out the whole retreat time (I want to say weekend but it was during the week). We are very blessed that the Western District is proactive in supporting their pastors in their marriages. We had a blast with everything and everyone! :-)

Going to a retreat

So Little N and Caristy planned their time right....(umm not really). We just get home spend a day at home, go to church and then leave again for a retreat for three days. (I have to say it was a really nice time) We got to Minot on Sunday, relaxed, did some shopping and then went swimming. The hotel has an AWESOME kids pool that's actually warm enough for Little N not to be freezing. While we were there we got to hang out with Joel & Emily and Little C. Little C is almost exactly a year older than Little N and he is so fun to watch. It will be fun watching them play together next year. Here are pictures from Sunday.

Back in the Midwest!

Now I know we missed out on the cold spell but when we came back to Fargo....man was it COLD!! :-) We got into the car and drove to a restaurant where we met up with John's family. It was a fun time and Linda just enjoyed holding Little N. Jim tried to hold Little N but Little Miss R wouldn't have it!! She is a grandpa's girl and didn't want to share! It was really cute! Little Miss I got a HUGE (kids size portion) hamburger, it was the size of her head. We hung out for a little bit and then little N decided that he had enough (remember he's a mommy's boy) and just wanted me! I am working on him liking and wanting to go to his Daddy but so far that isn't working to well! :-)

Good Bye CT!!

We loaded up the car and headed to Dalene's to say good bye to Rich (who called and told us to come down) and Dad. Watched the boys interact with Little N and then headed to the airport. Had lunch and then grabbed our stuff to get it to the airport. Got a pass for my mom to go through security and get us to the gate which was SO helpful!! Got through security, got to the gate and then sat down. Our flight was called so we boarded the plane. We got into MSP early because there was a medical issue with someone on our flight. Kind of scary.....he was having seizures. So we got in early but we had to stay seated in the plane while the police, fire fighters, and ambulance came onto the plane to escort the man off the flight. Thankfully no drama on the second leg of our journey. Little N did a great job on the flight. He ate, fell asleep and then flirted with everyone around us....both times! :-) We got into Fargo and John was there.....the first thing he did was take little N and just hold him. He told me that with Little N around I wasn't allowed to be gone for that long again.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for all the fun times!! We will miss you!

(I'm sorry but I think my kid is a fun subject to take pictures of. I have a picture of my brother....one of the last shots and he told me stop your gonna blind him with all the photos you take. hehe! :-)

Running Errands!

The last three days that Little N and Caristy were in CT, my mom stayed home from work. Which was wonderful because I got to be with my mom and do all the last minute stuff that I wanted to do before I left. We went to the stamping place, the mall, Sams club, Trader Joes (they have the best chocolate truffles ever!), even went to the movies. It was a wonderful last three days. Thanks mom for taking time off and spending time with us.

Hanging out with Josh & Julie.

J & J invited Little N & I over for dinner. They have a baby Little L who is almost 6 months older than little N. We had spaghetti & then awesome Pumpkin dessert....got to get the recipe again. Then Little N & L played together! It was so fun to see!! Can't wait until the summer for them to play together!! Thanks for a great time!!

Hanging out as a Family!!

We had dinner together after a day of pictures. Lexi was able to come, so all but John were there. I finally had my picture with Rich, Lindsay & Little N, so I was happy!!

All the Great Grandchildren with Grandma D

We decided that we should try and get a picture of all the great grandchildren and Caristy's Grandma. So we took off to a phot place. That place took probably 8 shots and they weren't very good because she would wait until everyone is perfect and then shoot.....that doesn't work when you have 6 kids under the age of 6 or 7 years old. We weren't very thrilled so we went to another place. That was awesome....the photographer interacted with the kids and had them do all sorts of thing.....we liked that place. Here are some candid shots....I wanted to show you what it was like at the first place and then second place has a policy of no shooting in their rooms....I took one but just to show how the photographer interacted with the kids. Getting the pictures done took almost all day! The kids did so good!!

Dinner with the Girls!

Caristy had dinner with the girls! Yummy....angel hair pasta, chicken, alfredo sauce and broccoli!! It was amazing! :-) Little N stopped by for a bit to hang out and be admired.....then he left with Uncle Rich and we spent the night talking. I left around 10:30 pm because I figured little N was STARVING.....I got home and little N saw me from outside coming in and he started screaming like I had left him for weeks with his grandparents. It was HILARIOUS.....yup I guess you can say he's a momma's boy!
